Started happening after ssl was installed.

With the HTTPS plugin in your test installation? Or you mean the server?

Have you tried deactivating the HTTPS plugin you have? With s2Member you can force a pro-form page to be served securely. Pre Sale FAQs » Do I need an SSL certificate to use PayPal® Pro or Authorize.Net®?

If it’s the SSL in the server, I’d ask the webhost about it… And have you tested in an account without the SSL cert?

I’ll ask Jason too.

Always good to make backups.

I meant making a separate installation for the test, not replacing the current one. And if one in a separate directory still has the problem, I’d try in a different webhost account, because there may be something in the current one causing this.

I see. Thanks for confirming the plugins/theme deactivation. Did you try a separate clean installation of WordPress to try reproducing the problem?

Got ya. Earlier Elizabeth sent me an email confirming the refund of the Network license upgrade:

Elizabeth said:

I have refunded the Multi site Network license upgrade only.
It takes 2 to 3 business days for the credit to appear on his card.

Thanks for the update. Glad you fixed it. :)

I’m curious, how was that link allowing them to register if you have open registration disabled?

Posted: Wednesday Mar 13th, 2013 at 4:47 pm #44535

Thanks, got the email.

Hi Cristian, the problem still exists when I turn off all plugins and use the twenty twelve theme. It’s a very bizarre thing. I really need this to be working soon. It’s coming into nearly a week of this and it’s going to be very damaging to sales.

I’m looking at your plugins and there are 39 active. Did you deactivate them all to test for conflicts? If that’s not possible, could you install a test WordPress in a separate directory and add s2Member only to test this?

Hi Dan.

Are you using the s2member-files folder or the Amazon S3 integration?

Could you also submit your site info just in case? s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Suppose a site user has made a subscription for a year and paid $ 1,000, and then a month later he decided to make modifications and decided to pay $ 200 a month. The user automatically loses $ 900. Do you really think that your plugin has the function of modifying subscriptions?

PayPal itself doesn’t allow to change the terms of an existing subscription, so to “change” it it needs to be replaced with a new one. Since s2Member doesn’t know the EOT of the existing subscription, it can’t figure out the paid time left.

For this kind of change, you’d have to use a bit of PHP to estimate the time the user has left (similar to the need to have EOT notifications) and add it to the shortcode’s initial term without charge, so the next regular payment of the new subscription happens after the already paid time. Knowledge Base » Using Variables In A Shortcode

Is this also works for Payflow, or do I need a different code for a Payflow?

I don’t understand the question.

I do not see anything about EOT in Cancellation Notifications. How can I get EOT with Cancellation Notifications?

If I’m not mistaken, it could notify a hack that uses the [hilite mono]wp_loaded[/hilite] hook and then check the EOT time with [hilite mono]get_user_field[/hilite].

I’ll ask Jason to confirm this.

Hi Jesse.

What payment gateway are you using? I’ll ask Jason about the limit, but if it’s there it’s most likely because the gateway has that limit.

Julie, could you see if this video helps you with that? Video » s2Member (Login Welcome Page Conflicts?)

Hi David.

I left Jason a message asking about support for Authorize.Net UK. I’ll let you know when I hear back from him. :)

Hi Bob.

Thanks for the kudos. :)

I assume that now members who sign on through Mail Chimp will automatically appear as site users.

No, the integration is one-way from s2Member to MailChimp. Adding users to MailChimp doesn’t do anything in your site.

You may be interested in this hack, though: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/use-email-as-username/#post-28341

I hope that helps.

Mark, could you try the server check tool mentioned in this article and fix any warnings if they come up? Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips » Server

You could probably customize the post’s template to check if it has any restrictions and show some indication when the admin (i.e. you) is the one viewing it.

Hi Ziggy.

You could use a regular MailChimp opt-in form.

If the email address the person opt-ins with, is the same they register with, then the s2Member-MailChiimp integration may still transition him to another list when he upgrades his account… [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / List Servers -› Automate Unsubscribes/Opt-Outs[/hilite]

You can test and see if it works.

Posted: Wednesday Mar 13th, 2013 at 1:17 pm #44503

No, nothing. Those are just notices, nothing that’ll breaking the script…

What’s strange is that both the CSS and JS rely on the same file with just variable changes, but one works and the other doesn’t.

Do you have another webhost account that you can try this with? Although I’ve seen other site owners using HostGator without this problem coming up before.

Hi Juan.

That’s the hack I was going to point you to. http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/setting-up-eot-notifications/

I suggest that you post your questions there, so Bruce gets notified and can try helping you with it. It’ll also be helpful to others in the future when trying to implement the hack. :)

Hi LG.

I couldn’t reproduce this, it seems to be particular to your installation. Could you do the test suggested in this article? Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

Thanks. :)

Got it. Added the request to our list. :)

Segolene, please make sure that the framework and the Pro add-on have the same version. The latest for both is v130221.

And when uploading via FTP, make sure that you don’t have an extra s2member-pro folder nested. s2Member® » Pro » Install/Upgrade Instructions

Now, unzip the latest distribution of s2Member® Pro, and upload the [hilite mono]/s2member-pro[/hilite] folder to your [hilite mono]/wp-content/plugins[/hilite] directory via FTP. We recommend FileZilla™. You should end up with [hilite mono]/wp-content/plugins/s2member-pro/pro-module.php[/hilite], along with several other files and sub-directories. Make sure you don’t accidentally nest two [hilite mono]/s2member-pro/s2member-pro[/hilite] directories together. For example, this is NOT correct: [hilite mono]/wp-content/plugins/s2member-pro/s2member-pro/pro-module.php[/hilite].

I added the Email Log plugin, created a new pro-form for a single 1 cent payment, logged out and purchased. The process went fine, the email log says that the New User email was sent to me (and I got it) and a New Registration notification was sent to you. I also go a couple of opt-in confirmation emails from your autorresponder. But I didn’t see the s2Member Signup Confirmation in the Email Log, my inbox or spam box.

The odd thing is that the paypal-ipn log says that it was sent:

5 => ‘Signup Confirmation Email sent to: “Cristian Lavaque” .’,

Also odd is that it says that the user exists, but this was a new registration and the Singup Confirmation is not sent on upgrades of existing users…

6 => ‘User exists. Handling `payment` for Subscription via ( `web_accept` ).’,
7 => ‘Storing IPN signup vars now. These are associated with a User\’s account record; for future reference.’,

I’ll have to ask Jason about it…

Thanks. I’ll give this a look now.

Posted: Wednesday Mar 13th, 2013 at 9:04 am #44482

I added it to the feature requests then. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Normally OTOs are used right after the purchase, but having one that is able to count from the next login on, regardless of how many logins the person already did before, may be good.

You could, if you want, create a hack for this in your site. You have a conditional in your Login Welcome Page that checks if the user has already been shown the offer already. If he hasn’t, show it and save in in the db that he was shown it.

http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/update_user_option
http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_user_option

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Erick.

I’ll have to ask Jason about it, I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back from him. :)

Hi Jennifer.

If you deactivate s2Member, does the link to the profile work? And with s2Member active, have you tried deactivating other plugins and testing after each to see what happens? What about the theme, have you tried the default one? There may be a conflict somewhere that’s causing the redirection. Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

Are you testing this while logged out, logged in to your admin account or to a regular account? It should be the latter.

What’s the link to the profile page? /wp-admin/profile.php?
