First, THIS PLUGIN IS THE BEST!!!
Every day I keep finding ways I can enhance my client sites and it this plugin makes it happen – just short of amazing.

Thank you for the kudos! I’m glad s2Member is helping you so much. :)

Already tried disabling all plugins and activating one at a time. Please note that I have to have s2, “Nmedia File Uploader Plugin” and the “WP No Category Base – WPML compatible” for my pretty permalinks.

Got it. Could you, just for the test, disable those as well and see if the hack then works? If you find one of those is the source of the problem, then you’ll at least know where to fix the issue, instead of not even knowing what’s causing it.

Did you do the rest of the suggestions here? Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

You may also want to check if the problem is related to the use of the www. See: Knowledge Base » Logged In, But Am I?

I’m afraid Express Checkout has to be an option when using the PayPal Pro form.

Have you asked PayPal Australia how your PayPal Pro (PayFlow Edition) account can work with Express Checkout if Referenced Transactions are not available there? If they’re making PayPal Pro (PayFlow Edition) available and Express Checkout is required, they should give a solution.

About PayPal Standard, it’s not integrated in the pro-forms, but you could try a button next to the pro-form for those that’d prefer to pay that way.

it appears in blocks, so my first user is text, 2-23 are serial, next 30 odd are text, next 10 or so are serial numbers… Very strange!

Yes, that sounds quite strange… Have you tried these? Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

Also, I noticed that you guys have finally fixed the export thing so data is arranged properly, which fixes a bunch of MailChimp issues I was having. Yay! Thanks :)

Great! :)

If the normal translation is not working for a string, you could try a hack like the one shown here: Knowledge Base » Changing Words/Phrases In s2Member®

I hope that helps. :)

Instead of the OTO feature in s2Member, in this case you may need a bit customized solution.

You could have in your Login Welcome Page a conditional that checks if the user has a setting that says he’s been shown the offer. If he hasn’t, then show it to him and save that setting so he’s not shown the offer again. These may help:

[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Advanced PHP Conditionals[/hilite]
http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_user_option
http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/update_user_option

I hope that helps!

If you need to show the image to a user that doesn’t have access to it because it’s protected, you’ll need to add a download key to the URL. Please see: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Advanced Download Restrictions[/hilite]

Or you can make a copy of the file you need to show publicly, and put it in another bucket that isn’t protected by s2Member.

I hope that helps. :)

Okay. Could you submit your site’s info so I show it to Jason to investigate? s2Member® » Private Contact Form

Yeah, the missing email parser would cause you trouble. After creating it again, do you still have the problem? Knowledge Base » Debugging the AWeber integration

I agree with Richard and test for a conflict. This article may help too: Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

Level 0 is the free level, it’s the one users are demoted to on EOT. If you need to sell access to someone that’ll remain at Level 0, you could do it with ccaps. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Capability (Buy Now) Buttons[/hilite]

Custom capabilities can’t be sold as subscriptions yet, just buy-now. Levels are the ones that you’d sell for subscriptions. You can include ccaps when selling a level, though.

You can sell a Level 1 to Level 2 upgrade with a modification button (or pro-form if you’re using those). Video » s2Member (Modification/Cancellation Buttons)

It’d be a change from one subscription to another, not two separate subscriptions. s2Member doesn’t handle multiple subscriptions yet.

When a subscription is cancelled, it doesn’t downgrade to the previous level they had, all demotions are done to Level 0 by the EOT engine. Ccaps can be left and not removed, there’s a setting for that. See: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Automatic EOT Behavior[/hilite]

Does that clarify a bit how it works? I hope it helps. :)

James, are you using the latest s2Member? One of the latest releases improved the users search. http://www.s2member.com/changelog/

If that doesn’t help, could you try these? Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips

No problem! :)

The badge article does mention that: Knowledge Base » s2Member® Security Badges

any existing log files from previous debugging efforts MUST be deleted

But I’ll see where else we can mention it to make it more obvious. Thanks!

By the way, CreateRecurringPaymentsProfile is in the paypal-api log, but the last entry is from several months ago.

Got the login info. Thanks! I reviewed it and still can’t pin-point what’s wrong here. I’m forwarding it to Jason.

No problem! :)

Elizabeth reviewed this and adjusted your account. I think you were sent an email about it. Let us know if you need more help. :)

No – I’m not?! Would this also effect those that are maybe logged into my site too?

Admin accounts won’t be modified by s2Member, and a message to that effect would be found in the s2Member log.

A regular user logged in to his account when he loads the page with the ClickBank buttons generated by s2Member, will be upgraded. Upgrades don’t receive a signup confirmation email, the user just logs back in after checkout.

I guess I need to get to the bottom of why some people are not getting the emails – thanks

Looks like you’re on the right track. :)

I purchased through ClickBank. I don’t know what you’re doing differently… Are you logged out of your admin account when you do the test purchase?

Posted: Thursday Aug 1st, 2013 at 2:46 pm #54637

Maybe it went to your spam folder? I don’t know. I can’t say if there was an error with your test, because you had logging disabled. I recommend that you have it enabled when you test. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Log Files (Debug) -› Logging Configuration[/hilite]

About the scanner, just go to yoursite.com/s2-server-scanner.php This aricle should help: Knowledge Base » s2Member® Server Scanner

Posted: Thursday Aug 1st, 2013 at 2:40 pm #54631

I reviewed the s2Member-ClickBank integration and it all looked fine. So I enabled logging, did a test purchase, and all went correctly. I got my confirmation email with the registration link and it worked.

The logs show no error. I’ve disabled logging now, but you can still see the log entries.

I did notice in the server scanner that you have a checksum error for the s2member-pro directory. There’s a new version out now, so whe you update the framework and pro, use the scanner again to make sure it’s all green.

I hope that helps. :)

Jason improved this in the new version released today. Please update s2Member to v130731 to try it. :)

Posted: Wednesday Jul 31st, 2013 at 8:01 am #54473

Great! Thanks for the update. I’m glad you sorted those out. :)

1) How can I update my JW so it is pro. I have a licence and have updated it through the text document provided with JW player.

You’d use the attribute [hilite mono]player_key="my-license-key"[/hilite] in your s2Stream shortcode. See: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Shortcode Attributes -> s2Stream -> player_{setting}[/hilite]

2) I want users to pay for my membership on my main domain but have access to it through a sub domain. I basically want to keep my main site static but my private website on a subdomain like members.domain.com

You need s2Member in the site where the restriction is being enforced, so it’d be your subdomain. To sell s2Member access from outside, as in your static main site, you’d need a hack similar to this: Knowledge Base » ClickBank buttons outside the site with s2Member

I hope that helps! :)

Sorry, wasn’t around after the weekend until now. Thanks for your patience.

I got the emails, but the site is the same, with all the same plugins and theme. I still reviewed it again, and the log file you sent, but I couldn’t find the cause of the behavior you’re getting. And it’s the live site, so I can’t go testing for plugin or theme conflicts deactivating everything. As it is, I can’t tell what in your installation is causing it, but it seems quite certain that it’s not s2Member since you’re the only one getting this behavior out of all the site owners using it.

Please see my last reply above, I need to see a clean WP installation with just s2Member and have the error reproducible there to help debug this. This would not be your live site, but a separate installation of WP with just s2Member added, for the purpose of this test. s2Member® » Private Contact Form

I noticed that your error_log file is over 400 megabytes big, did you check it? I don’t have the bandwidth to get it myself right now.

Thanks for sending the info and your patience.

I reviewed your configuration and did a test to download a file from your bucket through s2Member, and didn’t have a problem. Try this URL changing the domain name to the actual one:

http://yoursite.com/?s2member_file_download=video.mp4

Are you still experiencing another problem I may not have noticed?

You can add it as a must-use plugin.

With that code, create the dir/file: /wp-content/mu-plugins/s2-hacks.php
