Hello Rick,

I’m afraid I don’t understand what the problem is. Can’t you just use the lowercase version?

What is your requirement which doesn’t allow you to have lowercase ccaps?

Hello Nicki,

Please make double sure that you do have it enabled, since for some reason it’s having problems.

The robots.txt file, I’m pretty sure that’s what’s used by Google and such, can’t remember for sure…

Hello Saurav,

We don’t have any articles on how to achieve this.

However, there are plugins that allow you to see other users’ profiles. You can search WordPress for “users profiles” see if you get anything that works for you. Otherwise you can just change the search terms. :)

Glad you solved the problem Cyrelle! :)

If you’re accessing the test user with a mobile device then it’s not strange that you got IP restricted.

If you didn’t then it means that your internet provider is making you access the internet from different places. I don’t really remember how it works but that’s the case.

Of course, these cases are if yo got blocked even though you didn’t even move your computer.

Hello Diana,

What access to these users have and what is the page/post protected with? That’s the info we need the most first. :)

As far as I’m aware, s2Member does not come in contact with websharks-inc.com for anything…

Especially for the badge, that wouldn’t make sense.

Do you have logs enabled? Check if you have logs enabled under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Log Files (Debug) -› Logging Configuration.

Hello Ben,

Yes that signifies they are buy now buttons.

If a user renews early when they’re using buy now buttons the correct thing that should happen is that the access they just bought will be added to their current already bought membership. So it stacks up in other words.

For instance a way of showing a polite message – “That content is restricted” and staying on the same page. Maybe this is possible and I haven’t yet found the way?

That is not possible currently with s2member I’m afraid. You’ll have to modify s2member so that it works this way instead of redirecting to the MOP (membership options page).

Hmm, no, I’m afraid I can’t provide any help for this.

You’ll have to either modify this plugin to work with s2Member correctly, or hire someone else to do it for you.

Hello Jonathan,

You are using recurring subscriptions correct? In that case it is not possible to dis-allow them to unsubscribe to your paid content.

PayPal requires for the website to provide a way for the user to unsubscribe to the PayPal subscription at any moment.

One thing you can do is just use a one-time payment option. And make it smaller payments. So instead of a year it can be 6-month access, and you just divide the total cost in 2.

Hello Saurav,

I’m afraid this isn’t possible yet with s2Member. The part where the user himself can see his own profile and modify it, that’s possible. But the part where users can see another user’s profile, that’s not possible without modifying s2Member to allow this.

In other words, you need to custom code this in yourself in order for s2Member to behave this way.

This is a direct quote:

In WordPress, there are Post Types.

  • Page is a Post Type: page
  • Post is a Post Type: post
  • Attachment is a Post Type: attachment
  • etc, etc.. Everything is a Post Type

If a custom theme adds a new Post Type that holds fragments of data which are later included in another Post Type (like a Page for instance, this creates a problem; as the site owner describes in this thread).

So let’s say for instance, we have this scenario.

I create a custom theme that saves fragments of data called Snippets (like we have @ s2Member.com).
Snippets are a Post Type. Post Type: snippet. See: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-snippets/

Now I create a Page. Post Type: page.

In that page I include a Shortcode that pulls in a Snippet (like a PHP include).
(this goes into my Page).

So now I have a Page (Post Type: page) that contains a Snippet (Post Type: snippet).
However, if this content if for members only, I should protect BOTH the Page and the Snippet.

With s2Member you can protect different Post Types; either by ID, or by specifying all-[post type]s (plural). For instance, all-snippets or all-pages. This is accomplished from the Restriction Options panel under Post Level Access Restrictions. So it is very easy to protect the original permalinks for both Post Types.

In this thread, the user says:

Even if these pages supplying content for the tabs are protected, the content freely displays to non-registered visitors who visit the master page.

You would certainly not expect this to be the case.

Yes, that IS to be expected. The fact that you’re creating a new Page that brings forward this content, means that YOU (as the site owner) are obligated to protect that new master Page as well. s2Member does not care that you’ve protected the other Pages (e.g. Tabs in this case). If you create a new Page that pulls in content from those other Pages (like PHP includes); you will need to protect the Page that is doing this.

Does that help?

Hello Robert,

1. Why haven’t these memberships been demoted to “free” or level zero? Does this mean they still have access to paid services?!? In the users section they all still list as level 2.

Well, what are your settings under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Automatic EOT Behavior?

Remember that the EOT takes place an extra 24 hours after the actual EOT. :)

2. Can I modify several, or preferably all, EOTs of a given membership level? Or am I releagated to manually editing in each?

And I guess a third question would be: if the answer to #2 is ‘no’, would this be possible with the paid S2 membership? I’d gladly pay for this plug-in, but just don’t require any of the “bells and whistles”. If this were a bell or whistle… I’m in!

To answer it simply, both are a no. You can’t mass-edit users, and this isn’t in the pro version either.

Hello Muhammad,

s2Member currently isn’t integrated with the WatuPRO plugin. And I haven’t heard of anyone integrating it yet.

You can, however, integrate it. Though you would have to edit both plugins I’m afraid. :/

Hello Ben,

No, I’m afraid there is no way to prevent them from logging in.

If you want to achieve this you’ll have to edit the WordPress login page so that it doesn’t allow logging in for free members. :)

It’s either a problem with the Domain Mapping plugin or for some reason your WordPress installs have their URLs mixed up.

In any case, glad you found the cause of the problem. :)

Hello Albert,

s2Member doesn’t offer any themes. s2member is a member management plugin…

May I ask, what theme are you talking about?

Hello Jeremy,

My memory doesn’t contain a Hebrew translation of s2Member… No users have posted this yet…

So you’ll have to do the translation yourself. :/

No this is a custom script that you’ll have to do. If you wish you can hire a freelancer to achieve this for you. :)

You can get good freelancers at websites like jobs.wordpress.net, elance.com, freelancer.com etc.

Hello David,

1. Just purchased s2 Pro. Followed the installation instructions. Word press says that there is no plugin to install. Can’t install. Any ideas.

You can’t install the pro version like any other plugin. You have to do it manually through FTP. Check this link for instructions: s2Member® » Pro » Install/Upgrade Instructions

2 .Free version installed fine but I don’t have any of the drop down boxs that I should have on the configuration pages. There is simply nothing on the RHS of the screen.I see the Save button but that is it. Tried different browsers no different.

This means that s2Member probably has a compatibility issue with one of your plugins or your theme. Try these common trouble shooting tips to see if it fixes it: Knowledge Base » Common Troubleshooting Tips
Remember to try them all. ;)

Ah I get you, I refreshed my memory.

Check under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Shortcode Attributes (Explained), look for the rrt attribute.

This allows you to accomplish what you want, you would generate a normal monthly ongoing payments button and you would modify it so it works with the rrt attribute. :)

Just remember that when this 4 month period ends the EOT will be triggered. In other words, the user will lose his membership.
