Glad you solved the problem Joe. :) Just so you know, apparently the problem s2Member was having while upgrading was creating a new directory, seems s2Member didn’t have enough permissions to do that. :) – Eduan |

I see, that counts as a mobile device though, cause you can move around with it. :) This means that you’re breaking, with your laptop, the IP restrictions set under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Unique IP Access Restrictions. So really it’s not strange that you’re getting blocked. :) – Eduan |

Hello Leland, So you mean to give a user a certain custom capability that basically gives him a level 1 user’s access to file downloads? – Eduan |

Hello Joe, I’m afraid s2Member doesn’t do this. It does allow the user to see his own profile and edit it, but it doesn’t allow it for other users I believe. You would need to find another plugin that does this for you, for example make a list of all the users, and allow users to see the profiles of other users. – Eduan |

Hello Mike, Want to make something clear before helping you. :) The level you require of the field is not for each level, but rather for the level the user needs to have to see those fields. So if you require a field to level 1, any user that can access level 1 will be able to see it, not if they’re registering for level 1, but if they are level 1. Get it? So once again. What is actually the problem? Also, the /signup/ page is not useable as registration page for level 0. – Eduan |

I believe you can change it to whatever time is possible, not completely sure though. If you can it would have it’s limits, like, you can’t say “one hour and 3 minutes”, you would have to say “90 minutes”, see what I mean? For that you will need to study the shortcode attributes though, the generator simply makes the button for you, but you can modify whatever value to whatever you want, as long as it’s allowed by the attribute. Check under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Shortcode Attributes (Explained) for more info. :) – Eduan |

As Alec suggested, using a maintenance mode is the best way to go here, allowing only admin users to enter your website, while the rest are stuck with the “Coming soon…” page. This achieves the same effect as having a new index.html file, but without messing up anything. :) – Eduan |

Hello Richard, s2Member has been available since 2011, the oldest version, pretty sure. :) So your question is why topics are closed to new posts? I believe the forum system closes posts automatically after 15 days with no activity, in which case post owners normally open another topic referencing that older thread. Also, Jason closes topics that have been solved for his own organization I think, to keep everything organized. – Eduan |

I can’t remember myself. I think it is exploitable, but I’m not sure, you’ll have to test yourself. I remember something about s2Member generating a special link for the exact person that bought it, but again, I can’t remember. However, it is only exploitable in the amount of time the link is valid, which is 72 hours by default. Again, not sure, so you will have to test yourself. – Eduan |
