Yes Rich, s2Member does all that. … and more!
Protecting posts, pages, or other content can be done conditional to being logged in, or to have the proper membership level, or even with custom capabilities. It is extremely versatile.

I dont think there is any problem with two services using the same Paypal. Although i am not using the Paypal pro, i have two different sites using it without a glitch and i am looking at adding a shopping cart to the same site i have s2Member on and i am not expecting problems either.

Maybe a tech person can confirm this.
Good luck.

I am no tech but i know it does integrate with aweber.
As for question #1, do you mean content dripping? if so, yes it does.

I am pretty sure both of your requests can even be done with teh basic free version, so maybe you can give it a try, check the functions on the free versions and even play with it on a test site to get a good feel of what it can do.

Good luck.

I am not a tech person, nor a developper, but i am using Headway Theme, which is a visual theme where you can click, drag and drop boxes.. Since i am not a coder, it works fine for me, and it works fine with s2M too. I am sure you can get more suggestions in here. Good luck.

Ok, is that kind of coding accessible to a newbie like me or should i really go ask my developper? I am able to follow instructions very well!

Before i get into such coding, would this be available in the next release of the s2Member?

My site is http://scrapbookcampus.com

The WP affiliate plugin allows anyone to become YOUR affiliate and send YOU traffic. They are assigned a specific ID and they will use their special URL (which includes their ID) to send you some traffic. You can create a different URL for each “product” you sell, whether it is a downloadable product or a membership. If a visitor uses their link, and makes a purchase, it will be recorded under your affiliate ID. At the end of the month, you simply compile the data for your affiliates and pay them. You can also choose a different commission rate per affiliate too, meaning you can have John get 20%, but Frank can get 30% and Steve gets 50%. That is all up to you.

That plugin works fine alongside s2M except if you are using Custom variables since WP Affiliate uses the cv1 as the ID so if you need Custo variables for s2M, you should work around that (it is not hard at all but probably does not need the explanation here).

s2Member does not have an affiliate management system. On my site, i use WP Affiliate. It is pretty simple to use and versatile. It is not free but not that expensive. s2M however, integrates with Clickbank and iDevaffiliate if you want to go that route (that is the Pro version of s2M though).

Hope it helps.

You can probably use Custom Capabilities and set some pages to the ccaps of “wholesale” and then you can upgrade the wholesalers to have that ccap. Then, they will be able to see all the wholesale pages and the others. If you want the wholesalers to NOT see the regular pages, then you can set up those pages to a ccap of “regular” and restrict access to the “regular” customers only.

Custom Capabilities are like keyholes on the pages, and the members get the key. If the member has the matching key, they will access the page (or content), but if they dont have the right key they wont see the page!

You can learn more on custom capabilities (ccaps) with the video here (i dont know how to embed the videos in here):

Good luck.

I use Akismet and there is no problem with s2M. I didn`t notice any “odd” registrations either but i cannot say, for sure, whether it is because of Akismet, or because my site is not that interesting to spammers?

It is under API / List Servers and MailChimp is the first one on top. Unless you are looking for something else as far as tailoring?

I know that by now, Cassel is really looking forward to the coming major release. :D

Hehehe… i am not adding ANYTHING to my site until that release. No point in searching, installing and configuring something that will be taken care of in the next release, right? So, when is that release expected for?

s2Member doesn’t have shopping cart features yet

Is it planned for the next major release?

Thanks for the info and i will update you when i try it so others can benefit from it.

I am pretty sure you can. If your content is online, you can use Custom Capabilities (ccaps) instead of levels and restrict their access according to the ccap assigned to the member. If your content is downloadable, then you can do so through the Specific Post/Page Access Restrictions. All those can be done with the free version, if i remember correctly.

Maybe a s2M expert might come and chime in to clarify this.

You might want to peak at these videos:

I never used it with level 0 (free membership) and ccaps. The payment method (level 1 and up) would associate the ccaps automatically, but if you are changing them manually, i suspect you can still do the same.

When you open the page for a specific user, at the bottom, you have “s2Member Configuration & Profile Fields” and in there, you have “Custom Capabilities” field where you CAN manually enter whatever ccap you want. So if you have a user who is allowed to view the content for “level50” (imagining that is what you call the level where they have reached a total sale amount of say $50), you can assign this ccap to that user, and then, restrict the access to the content with that name.

So you could have John, who is assigned ccap of level50, and Tom is assigned ccap of level100, and Jane is assigned ccap of level200.

After that, you can have one or several pages restricted to level50, (which ony John can view), then more pages restricted to level100 (which Tom can view), and more pages restricted to level200 (for Jane).

So when John makes more purchases, and reaches the amount needed for your level100, you manually change the ccap in his permission to level100, and therefore he will automatically be able to view the pages for level100, and no longer be able to view the level50 he was seeing before.

The ccaps are yours to name. You can use ANYTHING you want (i am not sure if some special characters should be avoided because of coding, but i am sure a tech guy will be able to clarify that.

Am i making it clearer or more complicated?

I am pretty sure the free version of s2Member can do just that. The Pro version has benefits in other categories, but dealing with Paypal is standard even with the free version.

Good luck.

The levels are all built on top of each other so what you want will not be achieved with levels, but you can use the Custom Capabilities (ccaps) for that. Instead of numbers, you give them “names”. I have used that effectively on my site where i have two separate courses: one can purchase one course, or the other or both. If they buy the course named “basic”, i give them the cccaps “basic” and i restrict the content they can view to those identified as “basic” (it is entered just below the level number when you want to restrict by level).

Just like for levels, where you would indicate what level you would want a page to be seen, you can assign ccaps per page, but it will then be exclusive to those users who have the specific ccaps.

Check the video here:
http://www.s2member.com/videos/A2C07377CF60025E/?tw_p=twt
It explains it all. You will see that s2Member will do what you are hoping for.

Again, just trying, i checked the examples for the Advanced Conditionals (using php), and here is the example they have:

<?php if (current_user_is("s2member_level4")){ ?>
    Some premium content for Level 4 Members.
<?php } else if (current_user_is("s2member_level3")){ ?>
    Some premium content for Level 3 Members.
<?php } else if (current_user_is("s2member_level2")){ ?>
    Some premium content for Level 2 Members.
<?php } else if (current_user_is("s2member_level1")){ ?>
    Some premium content for Level 1 Members.
<?php } else if (current_user_is("s2member_level0")){ ?>
    Some content for Free Subscribers.
<?php } else { ?>
    Some public content.
<?php } ?>

So it seems that there is a

<?php }

in their example that is not in yours. Could that cause it?

Are you having the problem with all the existing users? Since you are an admin, sometimes it affects what you can and cannot see, so you have to be careful in not counting on what the admin sees. Maybe check with another existing member?

Another detail, (and i re-state that my coding knowledge is very very limited): i wonder if you didn`t add extra spaces before your “else ” lines?

I am really not familiar with the wp_nav_menu command (or variable) and definitely not knowledgeable with the pnp coding, so this is above my abilities.

But if you want to use the shortcode to include all the content on the same page, then you can use something like this:

[s2If current_user_is(s2member_level0)]
    put the resources accessible to all the registered members.

    [s2If current_user_is(s2member_level1)]
        add the resources accessible to those with level 1 membership.

        [s2If current_user_is(s2member_level2)]
            add the resources accessible to those with level 2 membership.

             [s2If current_user_is(s2member_leve3)]
                add the resources accessible to those with level 3membership.

                [s2If current_user_is(s2member_level4)]
                    add the resources accessible to those with level 4 membership.

                [/s2If]
            [/s2If]
        [/s2If]
    [/s2If]
[/s2If]

This will display all the resources you want but only according to what you allow each level to see. And you can also add this:

[s2If !is_user_logged_in()]
    something to encourage the visitor to either log in, or to register or purchase whatever package you offer along with a little sale pitch!
[/s2If]

But again,if you want to just display the menus according to their level, hopefully Christian or Raam will chime in.

Conditionals are very easy once you understand them (i LOVE them). You have several examples in the API /Scripting > Simple/Shortcode Conditionals in your s2M. Check the example #3 and you will see exactly what you can do for those different levels.

Good luck.

Do you really need to have separate menus or could you simply have ONE menu, but divide the content according to conditionals? So in the single resource page, you could have

if level 0 or above
show these resources
if level 1 and above
also show these resources
if level 2 and above
also show these resources

I am no tech, just another s2M user but i wanted to achieve that a while back but ended up using the menu always visible to all, but incorporate conditionals instead, and if the visitor is not reaching the lowest level i set, i can have a little sale pitch, encouraging the visitor to register or purchase the access.

Someone more knowledgeable in the coding and s2M will surely come and add info on the technical side,
