Hi Remon.

You could create your own integration with GetResponse using the Notifications API. The Notifications API is available in the free version of s2Member if you want to test this before upgrading.

Video » s2Member (API Tracking/Notifications)

I hope that helps. :)

Hi David.

BUT only visible when a member is logged into their membership. ie: I don’t want the page titles visible to public visitors

There’s a setting for Nav Menus to hide protected pages from users that don’t have access to them. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Alternative View Protection -> Nav Menu[/hilite]

And secondly, can this also be achieved for delayed content pages? ie: the page link is only visible to the member when the content is available?

The Alt View protection doesn’t prevent content protected by conditionals from being shown in the menu, since it’s not the whole page what’s protected by s2Member. This includes dripped content, since it’s done with conditionals.

You could probably use a text widget with some PHP code in it to drip the links to the dripped content. Or you could hack the menu code to do it, although I haven’t done it so I can’t offer specific advice on that one.

I hope that helps. :)

Option 2 is the one I like best. The URL is entered as your ClickBank product’s thank-you page URL. If your thank-you page were located at http://negociocpa.com/thank-you/ then the return URL would be

http://negociocpa.com/?s2member_pro_clickbank_return=1&s2member_pro_clickbank_return_success=http%3A%2F%2Fnegociocpa.com%2Fthank-you%2F

Hi Scott.

Well, you can use the free registration pro-form so the user registers his friends for them. That pro-form allows to create free accounts at any level you set it to, not just Level 0, as well as other things you can adjust with the shortcode attributes. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Free Registration Forms[/hilite]

Maybe something like that will help you with the customization?

Posted: Sunday Sep 23rd, 2012 at 7:10 am #26172

Cassel, if you stored the ccaps to the user’s MailChimp profile as merge fields, then you could filter the list by that when you email them.

Posted: Sunday Sep 23rd, 2012 at 6:43 am #26170

No, there isn’t one, but you can use a customized template for it, which you may want to take a look at. Maybe it’s enough to do what you want.

No, you can do test purchases with a product that wasn’t approved yet, just use the test card ClickBank gives you.

Could you show me a screenshot of the page with the IPN setting where you entered that URL please? Did you make sure it’s set to version 2.1?

Also, what do you mean by it not passing the test? Does it give an error? Could you show me a screenshot?

Did you enable logging? I’d like to see the entries from all the log files (even the ones that say PayPal in the name) for the test transaction, please. (Remember x’ing out private info like email addresses.) [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite]

Thanks. :)

I’m glad that worked then. :)

The individual post-page wasn’t the answer either, because it’s not a download.

Yeah, I understood that, but you could still sell it and the page have instructions, thank-you, upsells or whatever, while you send the DVD physically. Was the closest I had to suggest for your need with s2Member. The cart is better for physical goods, though, I’m glad you could integrate it with the same ccBill account.

No, shortcodes don’t work in the emails, but you can use the URL to the file. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Advanced Mod-Rewrite Linkage[/hilite]

Hi William.

There isn’t a setting to do it that way, but you could remove the first and last names from the registration and instead create a custom profile field for the full name, although it’s not going to be used by WP as the full name would if first and last name were entered normally. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Registration/Profile Fields[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Herman.

If they are redirected to a thank you page instead of the membership form… Can I use my customise thank you page and put there a link to the form to give access to the products???

The user will be taken to the default s2Member thank-you page for ClickBank, or to the one you specify in the return URL following the instructions here: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› Thank-You Page Integration -> optional customizations[/hilite]

By membership form, do you mean the registration form? In your thank-you page you can link to the registration form /wp-login.php?action=register

This link only will give access to the person that buy the products right? Because some one else could find that thank you page

Anybody with the URL to the thank-you page would/should be able to access it. The registration page, if you disabled Open Registration, would only be accessible by those that went through checkout and came back to the s2Member return URL.

I hope that helps!

Im working in the hispanic niche, so everything is in spanish thats why I need use a customized page

No hay problema. Yo usaría una thank-you page personalizada aunque mi sitio fuese en inglés. :)

Hi LG.

You could use the Cancellation Notification to run a script that will email the user. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Notifications -› Cancellation Notifications[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Herman.

Verify that you set the IPN to version 2.1 over at ClickBank, please. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› IPN Integration[/hilite]

By the way, if you haven’t yet, please enable logging. It’ll make it easier to find/solve some problems. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Herman.

Yes, you need to use the s2Member return URL for ClickBank, but you can still show your custom thank-you page to the customer. Here are the instructions: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› Thank-You Page Integration -> optional customizations[/hilite]

I hope it helps. :)

Hi Herman.

If you go to your Account page in ClickBank, you’ll see the panels for the Clerk and Developer APIs. [hilite path]ClickBank Admin -> Account Settings -> My Account [/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Abner.

You can use the download protection, protect the file at Level 1 and limit the downloads to 1. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Download Options -› Basic Download Restrictions[/hilite]

Does that help?

Which brings me to a supplementary issue, that of reminding the member that their membership is due to expire and prompting her/him to renew.

Yes, this is something we’re working on and will be coming in the new s2Member being developed. We don’t have a date for it yet, but it’s in the works.

In the meantime, you may be able to use AWeber or MailChimp to send the user an email on set dates right before the terms expire. It’s not the best solution, but it may be good enough for now. Video » s2Member (API List Servers)

unless we write custom code for EOT hooks. Is that the case?

The problem here is that with subscriptions, EOT time is not set before the subscription is ended (e.g. payment fails).

If the user has to pay each month manually, though, with single payments (e.g. “buy now” transactions in PayPal, i.e. not a subscription), then EOT time is set right there, and that’d let you have a cron-job with a script to check the EOT times for all users and email those that are close to the date.

I hope that helps!

As an aside, I had a look at the PayPal API documentation on the developer site, and it’s pretty damned complex. I can really begin to appreciate the amount of work that’s gone into integrating s2member with PP – it’s not something I’d fancy doing myself even as an experienced coder. So, kudos to the s2member techs :)

Thanks for the kudos! :)

Hi John.

1- Has anyone heard if S2member works or does not work with this theme ?

I’m sorry, I have no experience with it.

2 – I purchased a single-site S2member pro license. Does this account for any type of cutover situations if I’m building a site on a new host ? Only 1 site at a time would be active. I practiced activating this theme on a test site I have and there are just too many things I need to change/fix on the live site so I’m going to just create a new site, then cut over to the new site after it’s built. I’m doing this so my site isn’t in ‘construction’ mode for very long.

Sure, you can have a development installation and use s2Member Pro there without a problem. Only live sites count for the Single Site license.

I hope that helps. :)

Great! I’m glad you found the issue. Thanks for the update. :)

Posted: Saturday Sep 22nd, 2012 at 6:59 am #26103

There’s seems to be no way I can set a price without granting site access. In this case, the DVD purchase is separate from site membership. Not the solution I need.

I’m very sorry, I had not understood that you didn’t want to require an account registration. In that case, you can sell a Specific Post/Page, which won’t require the person to register. Video » s2Member (Specific Posts/Pages)

Since I had to set up a separate sub-account with CCBill to manage hard-purchases, I suppose there would be no conflict with user management. I’ll proceed with the shopping cart and see if I hit a road-block.

Oh, cool. I hope that works fine then. Let us know how it goes. :)

Hi Karyl.

As I said, the links work for her and then they stop working. For example, could there be a browser or an operating system issue?

What do you mean by it not working? What error/message is she given when she uses the link and it doesn’t work?

Maybe it has to do with the Unique IP restriction? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Unique IP Access Restrictions[/hilite]

I’m not sure why the link shortener service would work in some instances but not others. If tinyurl doesn’t work, what’s the next step?

Sometimes TinyURL doesn’t work, Goo.gl seems to have been more reliable in some cases. If the problem really were the shortening service and you needed to try a third one, you can still do it using a service that lets you use their API via URL (e.g. Bit.ly). You can enter the URL for it here: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› URL Shortening Service -> Custom URL Shortening Service API[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

3 – I found that when the link placed in the s2member side bar widget was invalid – the software (WP or s2) automatically created a link to a 404 page. Again just FYI.

What link was that? Could you show us a page with the widget so I check out the link you mention and the 404? Thanks!

Thanks for the help – Cristian and Raam – us “novices” appreciate the help / direction

No problem. :)

Posted: Saturday Sep 22nd, 2012 at 6:46 am #26100

Ah, that’s right, you’re using the pro-form so the user registers right there. Sorry it slipped my mind. :P

I’ll do an update as soon as possible. Thanks.

Cool. Please let us know if it takes care of the problem. :)

Hi Greg.

I am looking to use this to manage a product I sell through ClickBank. I see I can use s2Member to create a user account with the purchase, send them an email with their UN & PW and subscribe them to my list on Aweber.

Right. The user/pass email would be sent after the user registers, the account is not created automatically when the user pays. After payment a Signup Confirmation email is sent, and on registration the New User email is sent.
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ClickBank® Options -› Signup Confirmation Email[/hilite]
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Email Configuration -> New User[/hilite]

1) If people refund, cancel or stop paying (payment fail) can s2Member be configured to remove people from that list AND place them on another list on Aweber automatically? (assuming the integration with CB is done using the CB IPN)

Sure.
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / List Servers -› Automate Unsubscribes/Opt-Outs[/hilite]
Video » s2Member (API List Servers)

2) I found some answers on the forums that seemed to indicate going to areas of the plugin backend admin area that are not available on the free version, is that correct?

Yes, there are admin areas for s2Member Pro features which aren’t in the free s2Member Framework.

3) Will I also be able to create ‘free’ accounts if I want without having someone actually pay for the product?

Of course.

4) Will the same capability apply if I also sell from Paypal directly integrating Paypal with s2Member using their IPN?

Yes. You can do that with the free version too, if you wanted to try it now.

5) Is there any chance of an integration with Infusionsoft soon?

There’s a chance, it’s in our list of things we want to get done, but I have no date for it. In the meantime, you may find this thread interesting: http://www.primothemes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6223&p=53244#p32798

Thank you for the time. I am looking forward to using this plugin soon.

Great! Let us know if you have more questions. :)

Hi Chris.

Yeah, you can do that with s2Member.

For new registrations, you can use the free registration pro-form, which lets you set a higher level than 0 for the new user, as well as an EOT time, so the EOT behavior is executed (e.g. demotion).
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Pro Forms -› Free Registration Forms[/hilite]
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Automatic EOT Behavior[/hilite]

About existing users you may want to give the trial to, you can use the Export tool to get a CSV of your members, and raise their level, as well as give an EOT time, and then import the CSV file back to update their accounts.
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Import/Export -› User/Member Exportation[/hilite]
[hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Import/Export -› User/Member Importation[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)
