Thanks.

Weird… The button’s HTML is in the source code of the page.

Could you do a quick test changing your theme to the default TwentyEleven one and refresh that page to see if the button then shows?

Hi Ansel.

The Problem: Whenever we set BloggersCreed.com to be the primary location in the domain mapping settings, and a member logins in it won’t redirect them to our Welcome page. When they first login it redirects them back to the sign up page

It may have to do with the WP session because the domain changes, and it may also cause trouble with the s2Member check for the domain for authentication on checkout. Knowledge Base » Logged in but am considered logged out

Do you have logging enabled? Could I see the entry for a transaction that had the registration problem? [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Options -› Account Details -› Logging[/hilite]

I haven’t tested this at all, but it’d be something like this:

Hi Jaime.

No, BuddyPress fields don’t integrate into the s2Member pro-forms, I’m afraid. :/

What functionality can I expect from S2 Pro Forms without PayPal Pro?

The same as with PayPal buttons, but with Express Checkout: Buy Now sales can be paid with a card, without having a PayPal account, but Subscriptions would need the user to login to his PayPal account.

Pre Sale FAQs » To use s2Member® Pro Forms, will I have to use PayPal® Pro?

I saw that I can still use regular PayPal buttons on my site. Can I use them inside an S2 Pro Form signups?

The pro-form already has the Express Checkout button, which gives a very similar experience to the PayPal Standard button.

Hi Robert.

No, s2Member doesn’t do this either. What you can do, though, is have a preview using conditionals in your content, so that there’s some content visible to visitors (including spiders), with the rest of the post shown to members only. Hi Mary.

Is there a way to automatically achieve what I want (2 week trial, then payment for three months, then lifetime access)?

You can do the 2 W trial, then have only 3 recurring payments using the [hilite mono]rrt[/hilite] shortcode attribute, and set EOT to not demote the user. [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Shortcode Attributes -> rrt[/hilite]

The problem would that would be that if someone cancellations/refunds, you’d have to demote him manually.

s2Member can’t do this exactly the way you want, all automated yet. We’re working to make it possible, pretty close, if not completely, the way you need. If you wanted to do it now, you’d have to create a hack to achieve it.

Oh, no, the user would just get the page he’s meant to get. What Eduán pointed you to is conditionals, which you can use to check what level the user has and, based on that, show the correct Login Welcome for him. Please read this documentation: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› Simple/Shortcode Conditionals[/hilite]

I hope that helps. :)

That’s great, Vanessa. Thanks for the update. :)

So you want to know where the capabilities for a post are stored so you can use in the prev/next links? It’d be in that table, under that key. I think they’re stored as a serialized array.

Hi Moshe.

You can edit the ccBill confirmation email here: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› ccBill® Options -› Signup Confirmation Email[/hilite]

One thing you could do, also, is have users register first with a free registration pro-form and then, once logged in, have them upgrade their account with the ccBill button.

I hope that helps. :)

Maybe, or not, I’m not sure. Best way to know would be testing it with a cheap 1 cent purchase.

Did you do the plugins test?

Hi Federico.

That sounds like it may be a problem with the theme. If you try the default TwentyEleven theme, do you still have that problem?

Posted: Tuesday Aug 28th, 2012 at 7:57 am #23265

From what Jason and I talked months ago, a good part of that may be possible in the new s2Member, but I can’t confirm it at all, since I’m not sure if it ended up in it or not.

Whatever you create on your own, would still need updating, since custom capabilities and profile fields are changing drastically, and in the same go you could update your MC integration, or just migrate it to the new s2Member API for the email service providers.

The new API for those will make it easier to integrate with more services (e.g. Constant Contact).

I hope it helps. :)

Hi Chris.

The Sign Up link in the widget points to http://sdateachers.org/sdateachers.org/?page_id=12 which redirects to the Membership Options page. Apparently, you restricted access to that page with a URI restriction at Level 0.

I hope that helps.

Hi Kathy.

I need to generate a list of all my members with certain custom capabilities.

s2Member doesn’t have an interface for this yet. You’d need to query the db for users with the ccap you want. Ccaps are WP capabilities prefixed with [hilite mono]access_s2member_ccap_[/hilite].

Maybe this plugin does what you need? http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/amr-users/

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Israel.

Would this disrupt the function with Clickbank?

No, that’d be fine. You can have the ClickBank and PayPal buttons one next to the other, using the shortcodes in your post.

Would they be required to create a new user name?

No, as long as the user is logged in to his account when he clicks the button, it’ll upgrade the existing account.

can purchase a level 2 upgrade with one click?

What do you mean with the one-click part? It can’t be done in one click because s2Member doesn’t have the card information stored in order to charge it, the user would have to go through the regular checkout to upgrade.

I hope that helps. :)

Hi Mary.

I’m just wondering if there are any ramifications to making this change that I am not seeing. I don’t use PayPal pro-forms, I use Google Checkout.

The fields are mostly used in the s2Member pro-forms. Since you’re not using them, it may be fine to use the BP fields.

I’ll email Jason to ask if he’s aware of any complication with s2Member when using the BP fields.

No, no date yet. We’ll make an announcement when we it’s ready for release. :)

George, here’s a post by Jason which seems related to your problem here: http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/bp-redirect-not-working-for-create-blog/page/2/#post-23209

Let me know if it helps. :)

Hi Michael.

I see. The permissions for that folder seem very low, can you raise them a little? And did you add that code to the .htaccess file as instructed in the warning?

Hi Roger.

Could you post here the row you imported (x’ing out the email address) please? Thanks! :)

Hi Mary.

Hmm… that reminds me of a similar problem reported before, but it was a problem in WP itself. Let me see if I find it…

http://www.s2member.com/forums/topic/login-widget-on-multisite/#post-19982

Not exactly the registration link you mentioned, but closely related, so it’d be worth looking for this same problem. Basically it’s using [hilite mono]network_site_url[/hilite] instead of [hilite mono]site_url[/hilite].

I hope it helps. :)

I’m glad you found the conflicting plugin. Thanks, I took note of it. :)

About the redirection making the widget not work, I had not counted on that, but you may be right. Then you could try a JS redirect in wp-login.php. Try adding it from here: [hilite path]Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Login Registration Design -> Footer[/hilite], with a condition so it only redirects if it’s for login, not for registration (unless you’re using a pro-form for that) or the lost password recovery tool.

Great, TJ! I’m very glad. Thanks for the update. :)
