Hello Nicole,

Could you please explain a little bit more of what you need? I’m afraid I don’t understand. :/

You want to give users like a free trial and after that expires they have to pay to continue having access?

Hello Frank,

What do you intend to do this for? I imagine it’s only for different content depending on the user’s access correct?

If that’s the case then you can simply use s2Member conditionals which would allow you to do the same but with only 1 page.

Check this article on s2Member simple conditionals:
Knowledge Base » Simple Shortcode Conditionals

You might also be interested in some things under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› PHP/API Constants in order to output some values that you want (username, amount of logins etc.).

Hello Ama,

I’m not sure myself, however you can try using subscription modification buttons, which you can find under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons -› Subscr. Modification Buttons.

I believe they should allow you to change the subscription that the user has. But only as long as it’s a recurring payments membership. :)

Hello there,

So your question is if s2Member is able to play protected MP4 videos that come from Amazon S3?

Yes you can play and protect videos that are in Amazon S3, however if it can play MP4 videos depends on the player you decide to use. We recommend JwPlayer but I’m not sure if it can.

Hello Andrew,

This is the first time this error is reported.

Could you please make sure s2Member is installed correctly? Just uninstall it and install it again (make sure deactivation safeguards are enabled Dashboard -› s2Member® -› General Options -› Deactivation Safeguards).

If that doesn’t work, could you please try all of these common troubleshooting tips and report back if any of them fixes the problem? Thanks!

Hello Matthew,

I’m sorry I can’t provide any help with iDevAffiliate. The only real thing I can suggest is that you try re-setting up iDevAffiliate with s2Member, following the instructions in is article:
Knowledge Base » iDevAffiliate® (s2 Commission Tracking)

Hello Chanell,

Glad you figured it out. :)

The problem here is that you were trying to setup the membership options page as the homepage, which can cause conflicts so s2Member warns you against this.

Hello James,

This is most probably caused by the setting under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› Restriction Options -› Unique IP Access Restrictions, what are the settings there?

Hello Angela,

I believe s2Member doesn’t provide any pre-made place to see this info if I remember correctly.

You would have to use some s2Member shortcodes to output this info where you want. Check under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› API / Scripting -› PHP/API Constants for all of these shortcodes/variables.

Hello Kim,

The membership options page is not setup with a shortcode, it’s setup like any other page. :)

Perhaps you mean the PayPal button shortcodes? YOu can find them under Dashboard -› s2Member® -› PayPal® Buttons.

Ah I understand. So you want to setup a system similar to an interest rate?

I’m afraid that you would have to modify s2Member for this. :/

Ah ha i see, we free user will become not so much help here like some paid user, this is not so nice,
but i must think about it when there is no one who have some idee abot my problem

Yes I’m afraid there isn’t any real support in the community forums, except other users and me, if I can help.

Hello Eric,

s2Member can certainly do this.

can I use s2member to do this? like make a page -they pay -then they make it to the next page where they can post. so its sort of like blocking content but not really…. just blocking a page where they can post.

This is very easy to accomplish. You would just have the user pay for level 1 access and the page that allows the user to post would be protected at level 1.

it would be a one time fee each time.

However at this point it’s no longer possible without delving into some code. :/

Hello Gary,

Could you please try re-installing s2Member? Just de-install it and install it again.

Also, if that does not fix it, could you please try this:

Here’s what he answered:

This is NOT a finished piece of work, but it demonstrates how you might accomplish this with s2Member®.

Please create this directory and file:
/wp-content/mu-plugins/s2-hacks.php
(NOTE: these are MUST USE plugins, see: http://codex.wordpress.org/Must_Use_Plugins)
(See also: http://www.s2member.com/kb/hacking-s2member/)

<?php
add_filter('ws_plugin__s2member_custom_fields_configured_at_level', 's2_limit_custom_fields_further', 10, 2);
function s2_limit_custom_fields_further($fields, $vars)
    {
        if($vars['_editable_context'] !== 'profile' || current_user_can('edit_users'))
            return $fields; // Do NOT filter them any further in this case.

        // Else let's look at each field ID and Custom Capabilities.

        foreach($fields as $_key => $field_id)
            {
                switch($field_id)
                    {
                        case 'my_unique_field_id':
                            if(!current_user_can('access_s2member_ccap_music'))
                                unset($fields[$_key]);
                            break;

                        case 'another_unique_field_id':
                            if(!current_user_can('access_s2member_ccap_videos'))
                                unset($fields[$_key]);
                            break;

                        default:
                            break; // Allow the field to be edited.
                    }
            }
        return $fields;
    }

Hello Wing,

I’m afraid there isn’t a plugin that has been tried and tested with/for this.

You’ll have to check the options and choose the one that works best.

I don’t think your database collapsed. They wouldn’t cause this sort of problem I think. However having a test installation should be helpful. Could you create a clean install and see if the problem is there?

Could you please also share an image so that I can get an image of your problem? Thanks!

Hello Minna, I’m afraid that you can’t really move the content, you can probably move it in the database, change the author value, but it’s really much more trouble than it’s worth I think. :/

I see… If it doesn’t provide any errors then it’s impossible for me to provide any help. :/

Hope they find the source of the problem. :)
