Update:

I replicated our site to a clean wp install.
Keeping all plugins and so on, but I changed the theme back to ten, and s2member works. Our current #!”#!! theme is is causing this.

As you can see, were having a hard time troubleshooting this. I will contact the theme developer about this.
Are s2member dev staff available for hire if needed?

Not wasting time, waiting for s2member, ive spent my time, and money trying to get a step closer to figure this out.

When in the s2member plugin, trying to create e.g. a paypal button, we see this in google console:

Resource interpreted as Stylesheet but transferred with MIME type text/html: "http://www.DOMAIN.dk/". admin.php:30
GET http://www.DOMAIN.dk/wp-content/themes/videoplus/thumb/thumb-style.css 404 (Not Found) admin.php:35
Resource interpreted as Script but transferred with MIME type text/html: "http://www.DOMAIN.dk/". admin.php:35
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token <

If we then try and click Generate Button Code, we get this error added to the console:

Uncaught ReferenceError: ws_plugin__s2member_paypalButtonGenerate is not defined admin.php:720

After confirming that our apache installation is compatible, not running mod_security, and not conflicting with suhosin, we had to move onto the theme. Everything in our theme, by the eyes of the developer, looks OK, and should NOT conflict in any way with s2member not being able to load its js (script).
We took it a notch further and paid for professional help today. He inserted handle code, troubleshooted php, and after some time narrowed it down to the plugin itself.
This is the result:

When a script is added to wordpress by a plugin, the wp_enqueue_script function is called with a bunch of information.
Two pieces are the “handle”, which I guess is just a short descriptor of what the script is,
the second piece is the script file, which in this case is blank (this is my theory so far).
By adding the handle attribute, we know which call to wp_enqueue_script is bad.
Do now we can search for that call to find out why it’s bad.
This’ll be in the source for the site, in the s2member plugin folder most likely.
I found it in s2member/includes/classes/menu-pages.inc.php, s2member-menu-pages.
The wp_enqueue_style is probably what’s causing the similar notice for css, and the s2member-menu-pages under
wp_enqueue_script is probably what is causing the script error.
(s/notice/warning)
Anyway, the second parameter is bad somehow, check the results of the function call being passed in.
Figure out why it’s bad. I don’t know enough about wordpress to be helpful here.
Figure out what part of that is breaking.

You have login credentials sent to your private support inbox, and i do, and I cannot stress this loud enough, I DO expect you guys to take a close look into this soon! Ive had this error through 2 updates now!

Hi Eduan. Yes, im aware of the troubleshooting tips, but since were running a live site for streaming, we simply cant disable plugins etc.. Our installations and all plugins are UTD and so forth.

The only thing I can image, is that SOMEHOW our theme doesnt let the js load….
Even our buy now pages are not displayed according to our shortcodes etc.. I have no clue where to begin troubleshooting.

Well said Joseph.. Ive requested this feature as well..
The users should be able to get a demotion/deletion email as well as they get a welcome email, anything short of this is…. Well.. Idiotic…
Ive been using s2member for quite a while now, and the more I see the development of s2member to support this and that, and turn away from what it originally was “A plugin to handle creating of members by payment”…
The devs of this once great plugin should remember their roots and why they created s2member to begin with…

I speak gods honest truth when I say that it pains me to see s2member suck due to more and more half-hearted coding just to support more and more wordpress bullshit!! No offence meant, but this is the truth of the matter – atleast from my perspective…

I also see this in the support of the product.. Resolving an issue can take days now, whereas a year ago it was usually solved within minutes.. Support staff only read half the content of our issues – when we ask in East, they answer in West – so to speak.. Are they overworked with all the arising issues of multisupport in this, again once upon a time, greate plugin? I think they are!

Back to roots!!!

This is all explained in the s2 manual. RTFM ;)
You simple choose your currency in pro forms. Nothing more to say to it!

The answer is simple.. You cannot.. You forgot/did not enable the S2member safeguard feature.
If you have a SQL backup, you can restore your settings, if you have exported your s2member settings within s2member, you can restore your settings.
If you have neither of the two, you cannot restore them, and you will have to start over.

Like you posted, but explained without references to pictures and what not:

For PayPal Pro Forms, if you set an RRA=0 it will NOT demote/delete the user if the first payment fails. It will in fact retry to get the payment indefinately every 5 days untill the payment has gone through. You HAVE to make the RRA a number between 1 and 3, depending on how many time paypal should retry to get payment, every 5 days.. Converted to plain english: Your non-eligable members can potentially have free access – indefinately, to your content if you set an RRA=0, as long as they dont have a valid creditcard on file with paypal!!

THEREFOR, you HAVE to keep an eye out for PayPal emails telling you that a payment failed, and MANUALLY delete/downgrade the member AS WELL as deleting their payment plan in your PayPal account, cause I am pretty darn sure that NO business oriented person would EVER allow 5 days of free access to their content!

And a side note to this: Its PLAIN stupid!.. A value of 0 should mean exactly that.. 0 Retries..
Whereas indefinate retries should have no integer or accept code such as “indef” or something..

As far as I know, rra cant be 0 with pro forms? Atleast thats what you guys have told me, and I have to sit daily and manuallt delete members from both paypal and our site.
Its quite frankly f’ing annoying! (excuse me the language, just being honest here).
Having an RRA of 1 will tell paypal to try the payment 5 days after the payment was initially declined.
This means that these people has 5 days of totally free service, and I will never ever be able to claim my money.. Its petty.. But, you guys told me, that WHEN using pro-forms, you CANNOT have an RRA of 0. You TOLD me it must be atleast 1, and that its.. TADA.. ” A paypal thing”!!

God im so annoyed with this! In fact S2member is getting more and more annoying, but thats a whoooooole different story!

Can you find it?

And if you can, will you please take a look at my shortcode so we can move on and get the issue corrected?

Edit:

Found it and read your response.. RRA 1 for proforms :)

Sorry for the long wait. But I had to wait for a 12hour membership to be sold, and we mostly get 1 month memberships.
I have now, gotten a 12hour membership, and true to my “complaint”, she was given the 3 extra days.

I will use the contact form and send you the logs and my s2-hacks.php

This is my shortcode for recurring payments:

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level="4" ccaps="" desc="Løbende abonnement / 59,- om måneden" ps="Paypal" lc="" cc="DKK" dg="0" ns="1" custom="www.xxxx.dk" ta="59" tp="30" tt="D" ra="59" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="2" accept="paypal" accept_via_paypal="paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro" coupon="" accept_coupons="0" default_country_code="DK" captcha="0" /]

Could I set the RRA to 0 if I want 0 re-attempts and want the member deleted immidiately if the payment doesnt go through?

Status.. Its been five days, and Paypal couldnt charge him again, his membership is still active and paypal wants to try again in another 5 days.

What do I need to do to:

Make sure that something like this cannot happen again, as in, if paypal cant charge a member his account should be deleted right away?

I will manually delete his membership now, and delete his recurring account with us at paypal.

@ Christian.. I think you need to read this thread again ;)

The issue isnt so much CF.. RTMP is secure enough by it self.

What were talking about here, is the KEYPAIR for FILE (bucket streaming) streaming. that is generated by S2Member. For download security reasons, this keypair should not be valid after it has been used 1 time, or it should most definately expire in a matter of seconds.

Example from content source is:

{file: 'http://dnl.XXXXXXX.dk/FILE.mp4?Policy=eyJTdGF0ZW1lbnQiOlt7IlJlc291cmNlIjoiaHR0cDovL2RubC5tb3ZpZWxvY2tlci5kay9jb250YWN0JTJGY29udGFjdF8xNi05XzE4MDBrXzcyMHAubXA0IiwiQ29uZGl0aW9uIjp7IklwQWRkcmVzcyI6eyJBV1M6U291cmNlSXAiOiIxOTMuNDcuODEuODUvMzIifSwiRGF0ZUxlc3NUaGFuIjp7IkFXUzpFcG9jaFRpbWUiOjEzNjMzNjIxOTl9fX1dfQ__&Signature=0cT99PF~xQyjtrfkFfAiLaQAGxXgPsIpi3FHgVnKXZ~b1YadWOI5Cs7V0AxwasOcuJaQiQ9j64G47RTs-MlB7Z5VMMJmWniqDF1XMtms3kCSPEY~AC0Wvv4zFKgY4YkOAbcvnbO46o9ofCDsDVH81LrYDSfxDIrSvcawTe9oFYg_&Key-Pair-Id=APKAICEBU5HLY5KQ67JA'}

If users grab this code, they can distribute it around the net, and/or download YOUR video file.

This has nothing to do with RTMP streaming as you suggest in your response above.

So, like I said, to better protect our content, you should tell us how, or develop a setting that would render the Key-Pair useless after 1 click, or expires after.. lets say 10 seconds.. Preferably, it should expire after 1st click.

Username: Zeeflo

Yes, that is correct. It is better to use RTMP ONLY.. It is possible to download the videos with the file fallback.

Perhaps you should ask support HOW you can protect videos with file fallback (the best thing would be to have the key-pair generated by S2member to be valid for only 5 seconds or something) I dont know how S2member handles this.

I have inspected your video: TRADING STRATEGY – VIDEO 2

Its encoded correctly, and your shortcode for rtmp and file fallback is 100% correct.

You might want to try and NOT use cloudfront and see if that helps.

In your shortcode, use [s2Stream player="jwplayer-v6" etc etc /].
If you use this, youre not using cloudfront, and people will view your videos straight from your bucket.
Try this, and see if people are still complaining.. Also, I would not suspect that your website even have the need for CloudFront distribution!!
