that was it…thank you Bruce. I just needed to add the /themes/child-theme-name/form-name.php to the shortcode, whereas I was using form-name.php in the shortcode. Much appreciated and thank you for the fast response.

Bruce,

Thank you for your reply.

Just a head’s up, I’m using Authorize.net rather than paypal as mentioned in my OP. I did, however follow the authnet shortcode instructions and added the template file within the signup shortcode. Unfortunately, that did not work. I copied it over to the parent theme, which worked, but as I’m sure you know, that is definitely not the best way to go. I need to be able to have all my customizations in my child theme.

Please advise on what else I can do to operate a custom checkout template within my child theme please.

It would just be nice to know when beta starts. That way if we are around the corner from starting a project that could use it, we know to include S2Member as a solution to the project, rather than using an alternative solution, such as Membership Via Gravity Forms, or another membership plugin. S2Member is definitely the #1 choice for all of us when applicable, but sometimes Stripe is necessary, so we sometimes pass on s2 in favor of easier routes. But in truth, we’d much prefer to wait a few extra weeks if we knew that s2/stripe was around the bend.

That being said. We appreciate your hard work.

Okay fair enough. Can you at least do this one small favor for me (and whomever is awaiting Stripe Integration)…. Can you please announce it in the newsletter and twitter when it’s in beta and close to launch, so that we can plan around it once it’s almost released? Thanks in advance for all your hard work. :)

With all due respect Eduan, it’s good to hear that it is coming this year, though a lot of us purchased with promises of integration last year. It’s still a year later and we’ve not seen any sign of Stripe other than words of it’s coming. Can’t you at least allow those of us who’ve been waiting for the last year or so to have a crack at the beta version? We’d really appreciate it.

@Jason …..I appreciate your “thankfulness”. And I mean no disrespect, but I’m kind of looking for an answer to where to go with this next. Please advise.

Not for nothing Bruce, but Stripe should be at the top of the list. We’ve been waiting for quite long time. We keep hearing about but not seeing it. Don’t get me wrong, I love s2Member, but I keep seeing the other Membership plugins making advancements in their functionalities and they already have stripe integration. I’m at the crossroads of trying to figure out whether or not I should pay $300 – $400 to have someone create a stripe plugin for my s2Member sites, or just pay $100 – $200 for another membership plugin that already has stripe…..I shouldn’t be at that kind of crossroads…I really shouldn’t.

I’m not trying to talk trash, but honestly, nobody knows the s2member core and API like you guys do and I would think that you guys would WANT TO have the most developer friendly merchant processor in your corner.

Please consider either adding a plugin add-on for stripe, or getting s2member core to accept right away. Even if you guys made it an add-on plugin and charged us an extra $25 for it. You’ve already got at least 20 people on the forums asking for it. Those 20 alone would be worth about $500, not to mention the people who use s2member and search the forums only to sigh in the end, yet don’t leave a comment, as they feel/know it’s not worth their time to voice their opinion.

I have around 10 pending projects that that I want to do that need stripe, and 3 existing projects that I would like to switch to stripe. So it’s either pay a dev with the spare time to learn your API and create a stripe add-on plugin, or just spend a few hours exporting my members and restructuring my sites on a new membership plugin and say good-bye to s2Member. I like s2Member, but I NEED stripe. I spent 2 months researching membership plugins for WP before picking you guys. I was hesitant to choose s2member b/c of no stripe support, but was reassured when I read forum posts last spring stating that stripe integration was right around the corner…..a year later is not exactly right around the corner…know what I mean.

Thank you Cristian, but I’m not trying to give all level 1 members full access, I’m trying to setup an by-product of level 1 membership whereas some people have the option of purchasing all 12 months for a discounted one-time price. I need to give THOSE people full access to all the content in the level 1 membership so they don’t have to wait for each new section of content to be dripped to them.

So what about this scenario….Tell me what you think of this.

Step 1: Create a custom capability designated to giving full access to level 1 memberships. I could call the custom capability something like…

'level1_full_access'

Step 2: I place that new custom capability….

'level1_full_access'

…in the Authorize.net Capabilities Buy Now Pro Form as a custom capability automatically given to anyone who purchases through that pro form…

Step 3: I then add that custom capability string into my conditionals that are placed around my dripped content like so….

<?php if (S2MEMBER_CURRENT_USER_PAID_REGISTRATION_DAYS >= 120 || current_user_can('access_s2member_ccap_showme120') || current_user_can('level1_full_access')) { ?>

Or …are you saying that the custom capability that you advised me to use, already does that, and I should just add it to my conditional strings and then add it to a “Buy Now” Pro Form and be done with it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for chiming in Cassel. I figured something like that would be an issue. What do you recommend I do to solve this? Is there a way to manipulate the a single purchase do have the payments divided into 12 monthly payments by chance? I haven’t messed with anything like this in S2Member as of yet, so I’m stuck at this point.

Or will I have to just use paypal purchase links on those upgrades and then find another way to organize and manage them? Ugh….

Thank you Cassell. There has to be a way to make this work. I think it’s kind of foul to have the coupon codes limit my control over pricing so much, but there has to be a way to make it work…..it would be insane to not have a way around this.

the problem is that the new call center has a higher price, which people probably wouldn’t want to pay if they went to the normal signup page that offers it at $39.95 which is visible and accessible by the banners all over the site….ugh. fml.

That was it….I’ve never seen that affect anything negatively before. I have a long url, which is why I was capitalizing the first letters in the words….wish I could’ve kept it that way since Android Devices and a few others display caps as you display them in that field. Damn. :(

Anyhow, thank you very much for helping me with my issue….I appreciate it.

I know the button is being styled by the css, but I don’t see how the stylesheet can generate a button that isn’t set to be there in the plugin files?

Odd.

It’s the exact same “Submit Form” button that was automatically generated on the authorize.net pro form which you can view here:

Authorize.net Pro Form Here

As you can see, this is the exact same “submit form” button that is displayed alongside the paypal checkout button on the page in question here:

PayPal Pro Form Here

Here is the shrotcode for my authorize.net pro form:

[s2Member-Pro-AuthNet-Form level="1" ccaps="" desc="1 Month @ $199.00 / then $199.99 USD / Monthly ( recurring charge, for ongoing access )" cc="USD" custom="digitalblogworld.com" ta="199.00" tp="1" tt="M" ra="199.99" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" accept="visa,mastercard,amex,discover" coupon="" accept_coupons="1" default_country_code="US" captcha="0" /]

And here is the shortcode for my paypal pro form page:

[s2Member-Pro-PayPal-Form level="1" ccaps="" desc="1 Month @ $199 / then $199 USD / Monthly ( recurring charge, for ongoing access )" ps="paypal" lc="" cc="USD" dg="0" ns="1" custom="digitalblogworld.com" ta="199" tp="1" tt="M" ra="199.99" rp="1" rt="M" rr="1" rrt="" rra="2" accept="paypal,visa,mastercard,amex,discover,maestro,solo" accept_via_paypal="paypal" coupon="" accept_coupons="1" default_country_code="" captcha="0" /]

I know there must be a reason this is happening and I’m confident that we can figure it out.

By the way, I’ve done zero customization to the template. The only thing I did to the pro forms is make my selections for ssl, fees, etc. and generate a shortcode accordingly. That’s really it.

Thanks in advance.
